When you use Davinci Resolve as your colorist NLE and Log to Rec709, be wary of using it’s CST applied to a node using the DR effects menu (and probably in Davinci Color Management too) and how it deals with V-Log footage.
Here’s some graphs to show you what goes on in the color contrast inferred Luminance when its applied versus using the official V-Log to Rec709 v100 LUT. Notice the official LUT top left versus the DR CST settings.
I prefer to use the ‘Simple’ setting if need be though clearly the Color Contrast Inferred settings have been RGB averaged by Davinci Resolve when you check it against the official LUT.
